About Us

Pet Wellness Alliance is the only nonprofit veterinary clinic in Central Missouri. We offer wellness care, behavior services, and basic sick care for dogs and cats. We welcome all families and have no residency or income restrictions!

In recent years, the veterinary profession has recognized that access to veterinary care truly is a national crisis impacting millions of families across our country. At the heart of this crisis is the beautiful and powerful human animal bond - something that all people deserve to experience. When a family cannot afford care for their pet, they are at risk of losing their valued family member - either to illness or relinquishment - and this bond is at risk of being broken.

In a national survey of pet parents, the primary barrier to accessing veterinary care was overwhelmingly due to financial costs. When veterinary services are out of reach, many health conditions remain undiagnosed and untreated. This means a pet may suffer from a treatable illness, they may face prolonged illness, pain and discomfort, or even premature death. This causes emotional distress for the family and a reduced quality of life for the pet. Families may even find themselves in the heart wrenching position of giving their pet away.

Pet Well is on a mission to make access to veterinary care more equitable for all families in our community. We are proud to be a part of this movement so that all people can experience the joy and unconditional love of the bond with their pet.

What does it mean to be a nonprofit?

As a nonprofit organization, we are driven by dedication to our mission rather than by profits alone. At our core, we believe medicine should be a mission based endeavor and that all families should have access to high quality care their pets need.

Unlike a traditional business model, all profits are reinvested back into the organization and into programs which help families and their pets in our community through various initiatives and subsidy or grant programs.
